The aircraft

Zero Emission Flying Testbed (ZEFT) is the name of the family of aircraft, developed by a project within CleanEra. In order to implement all the different technologies the team of CleanEra is working on right now, a test vehicle is necessary. This is why there is a team within CleanEra which is designing these testbeds to test the CleanEra products, the first being the ZESAR. These testbeds will be of a revolutionary design, since they will tackle the two biggest problems in aviation using CleanEra technology: the emissions and noise. As the project name already indicates, the testbed is going to have no emissions. On top of this, the aircraft is also designed to be of zero nuisance to its environment.

This family of aircraft is being realized to achieve one of the main goals of the CleanEra team: a better and greener future for the aviation industry. Such a future can of course only be created when the efficiency of the entire aircraft is improved dramatically. To realize this, CleanEra technologies will be implemented in every subsystem on every level, to ensure the highest efficiency for these aircraft of the future.

The family of ZEFT will start with the ZESAR.

Next generation of ZEFT will be represented by the ZEFT X-2, ZEFT X-3, eventually leading to the CleanEra Airliner.
